Quality Technician

Responsible for the implementation and sustainability of quality assurance practices and ensuring that they are applied consistently throughout all phases of manufacturing
- Works closely with Production to identify and resolve quality system deficiencies
- Responsible for analysis of quality records and management of non-conformances
- Responsible for feedback on quality trends, non-conformance, corrective actions, and supplier trends
- Responsible for qualifications (including drawing qualifications)
- Responsible for maintaining the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
- Conduct internal and supplier audits/visits of all activities involving quality assurance and provide a detailed report of findings to the relevant role players
- Implement / Introduce improvements as and when required as part of continuous improvement for the organisation
- Develop and maintain calibration documentation for instruments and equipment
- Responsible for resolving supplier issues and assisting the supplier with their quality management system if required
- Perform detailed inspections of electronic components (e.g., PCBs, resistors, capacitors, and semiconductors) to ensure they meet specifications
- Test electronic circuits and systems using precision tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment
- Conduct functional testing on assembled electronics, including power-up tests, voltage/current measurements, and signal integrity tests
- Identify and troubleshoot defects or failures in electronic products or assemblies, including testing for shorts, opens, and component malfunctions
- Work with engineering teams to conduct root cause analysis of recurring defects, suggest corrective actions and resolving customer complaints
- Assist in developing and updating troubleshooting guides, quality control standards, and inspection procedures
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and defects in quality logs and databases
- Participate in cross-functional teams tasked with solving complex electronic quality problems
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Diploma in Electronic Engineering/ Quality Management or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ work experience in a Quality environment
- Statistics knowledge is an advantage
- Knowledge of electronics is required
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
- High level of computer literacy - MS Office products, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent report-writing skills are essential
- Experience in root cause analysis
