We have a new position in our Store Development team. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician (HVAC, Electrical). The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to ensure timeous, cost-effective, and compliant completion of building, retail outlets and maintenance projects and tasks.
**Responsibilities**:
- Complete Maintenance Checklist for each project and submit to line manager
- Perform quality inspections in retail outlets and raise any concerns with line manager
- Ensure maintenance is carried out according to the Maintenance Plan
- Perform allocated maintenance including but not limited to pest control (tbc), aircon service, plumbing repairs, minor aluminium and glazing shop front repairs, painting, in-store carpentry, ceiling repairs and replacements
- Complete all job cards allocated from the Maintenance Tracker including travelling to retail outlets to perform allocated maintenance tasks
- Perform minor maintenance tasks as and when required including but not limited to chopping tiles in renovated or closed retail outlets, removing fittings and fixtures,
- Ensure all projects are kept on track and that deadlines are met so as to eliminate penalties
- Ensure compliance to shopping mall house rules and provide feedback to the line manager of any infringements
- Monitor the work performed, receive Certificates of Compliance from contractors, submit copies to the Landlord and retain a colour copy for company records, on an annual basis
- Report any potential maintenance concerns observed while performing planned maintenance
- Review in store file and ensure that all documentation is up to date and meets all compliance requirements.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained including but not limited to ensuring all areas are free from wrapping, waste, and materials
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are well maintained, secured at all times and properly stored
- Ensure that all machinery is checked and in good working condition prior to usage
- Operate all machinery according to standard operating procedures and in compliance with health and safety requirements
- Perform maintenance and or repairs for which the relevant qualification or authorization is obtained
- Load and off load delivery vehicles
- Ensure that all loaded goods are properly secured
- Ensure the loading checklist is fully completed and signed off.
- Maintain and clean the vehicle by washing it once a week, inside and outside, and ensure that the cargo area is cleaned and maintained to acceptable standards daily.
- Maintains various files and records (e.g., traveling logs, diesel consumptions logs after filing up etc.) documenting activities, and provides materials and reliable resource information.
- Maintain vehicles (e.g., checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) ensuring safe operation of vehicle_._
- Represent the Brand and always behave in a professional manner.
- Follows best practices for safety, both on the road, while loading or unloading a truck and when parking the vehicle.
- Be flexible in assisting with general duties within the department based on operational requirements outside daily roles and responsibilities.
**Requirements**:
- Grade 12 or equivalent required.
- Shop fitting knowledge is required.
- Technical qualification inclusive of electrical, air conditioning a requirement.
- Root cause analysis an advantage.
- Driver’s license: Code 10 is required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with a technical team.
- Minimum 3 years shop fitting experience an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with equipment, materials, and supplies used in facilities and property management including but not limited to air conditioning, electrical installations, fixtures, fittings, Carpentry
- Property maintenance experience required an advantage.
- Toolbox management required.
- Working knowledge of retail construction an advantage
- Good understanding and working experience of OHASA a requirement.
