**Purpose of the Role**:

- Support company operations by providing financial and administrative support, maintaining office processes, systems and to serve as a link between the Groups entities.
- Ensure alignment, compliance, implementation and co-ordination of matters related to finance, people, systems, processes and general operations to ensure organisational effectiveness, efficiency and support the business in achieving its deliverables.

**The Person**:

- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years experience in a Financial or Management Accounting function.
- Some level of experience/exposure working in other African countries.
- Previous experience in a general management role will be an advantage.
- SAP experience.
- Must be willing to travel.

**Major Functions / Key Result Areas**:

- Group and Entity Compliance:

- Provide strategic advice and direction to the Entity Lead and Management team.
- Handle Group enquiries and complaints from internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between Head Office staff and the wider company.
- Communicate and alert HO of non-compliance, illegality and non-alignment to business principles and strategy.
- Prepare business plans, reports, documents and collateral as required.
- Represent the company on forums or committees.
- Represent the company at occasional out-of-hours events, hosted by, or on behalf of, the organisation.
- Financial Reporting and Support:

- Work with the Finance department to streamline vendor payment processes and improve the financial health of the company.
- Act as the primary support person for month, quarter and year-end financial activities.
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Co-ordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Co-ordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Maintain and document accounting procedures & policies.
- Maintain relationships with External Auditors and banks.
- Measure company performance against external and internal benchmarks.
- Identify areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Work closely with Executive Leadership team to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Group to ensure that all deductions and payroll activities are compliant with Payroll Laws.
- Update, maintain and report on business scorecards monthly.
