**_ur client is urgently looking for a Senior Nursing Service Manager to join their organization_**

**_Location: _**:

- Bridgewater Manor, Cape Town_

**_Requirements:_**
- _ Relevant Nursing qualification as a Registered Nurse_
- _ Must be SANC Registered_
- _ Must have 7-10 years of nursing experience_
- _ Must be fluent in English _
- _Knowledge of Dementia care, Frail care, palliative care, rehab, strokes_
- _ Experience in geriatrics is advantageous_

**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Staffing and Staff Management_
- _ Report to Senior Management daily via the electronic platform_
- _ Manage Shift Leaders directly and all other staff indirectly_
- _ Ensure full staffing on each shift with specific emphasis on the proper deployment of all staff members._
- _ Oversee and monitor agency and privately employed care and nursing staff ensure all procedures are followed and take action when needed_
- _ Liaise with HR regarding disciplinary matters and issue warnings when needed_
- _ Have regular (weekly) staff meetings to discuss issues at hand and allow for feedback from all._
- Training_
- _ Attend relevant management and clinical education programmes_
- _ Address ongoing clinical skills and training needs within the facility with staff and inform Training Manager_
- _ Encourage staff development and ongoing education_
- _ Identify training needs and oversee the implementation of training programmes for new and existing staff as per specific training plan_
- _ Ensure all training competencies have been completed and ensure all newly appointed staff completes the competency tests_
- Admissions and Discharges_
- _ Oversee the entire admission and discharge process which is managed by the Shift leader and allocation of beds according to availability, diagnosis_
- _ Interview prospective residents and their families, obtain all relevant medical reports as per company procedure and provide counseling where required_
- _ Oversee that all documentation for admission, progress, and discharges in the sub-acute facility (applicable only in facilities where a sub-acute license is in place)_
- _ Sign off on resident evaluation form/review and escalate any concerns immediately to the Senior Manager Management_
- Resident and Family Interaction_
- _ Have full knowledge and communicate the types and levels of services offered within the facility (i.e. long-term and/or subacute) to interested persons enquiring about the facility_
- _ Interface with families regularly and where support, assistance, or decision-making input is required_
- _ Resolve complaints_
- _ Develop a professional clinical and caring relationship with all residents receiving care_
- _ Provide effective education, advice, and counseling to the resident about matters relating to the facility, maintenance, and/or staff_
- _ Be able to discuss with residents their individual care plan and aspects of their health, condition, and prognosis where possible._
- _ Refer resident to appropriate medical professional where necessary_
- Village Residents and Services Offered_
- _ Communicate regularly with the Village Manager and discuss any issues that may overlap with healthcare_
- _ Manage the 6 monthly and annual visits to all village residents by the Healthcare Coordinator._
- _ Attend monthly MDT meetings to discuss vulnerable residents and implement action plans_
- Handover_
- _ Attend and supervise the nursing handover procedure daily as per the policy_
- _ Be aware of all resident information exchanged during the handover_
- _ Use handover to communicate important notices to staff_
- Nursing and Care_
- _ Strive to achieve an optimal level of care for all residents, and ensure staff adhere to the scope of practice and best practice regulations_
- _ Implement ethical guidelines and provisions of relevant legislation in caregiving in the facility_
- _ Liaise with Management and Faircape Doctors regarding any health/medical problems concerning residents if their assigned medical practitioner is not suitable._
- _ Inform the Management of any situations concerning residents care that requires intervention or follow up_
- _ Review care plans with Shift Leader when necessary_
- _ Manage emergency care response procedure_
- _ Refer any residents requiring additional care to the appropriate hospital or other facility or medical practitioner involved._
- _ Liaise with on-site OT, Dietician, and social worker in terms of resident care where necessary_
- _ Monitor nursing/care documentation to maintain a high standard of documentation to avoid risk resulting from poor documentation_
- Risk Management and Emergencies_
- _ Supervise the implementation of infection control procedures during any outbreak or suspected infection occurring_
- _ Record and action any health-related incidents that occur in the healthcare and village and report to the Claremont office as per company procedure_
- _ Attend monthly H&S meetings and take action as needed_
