**The duties and responsibilities of the **Finance Director **will include, but not limited to**:
**NACOSA Strategy and Innovation**:

- Provide leadership and vision to achieve NACOSA goals in relation to HIV, AIDS, and TB policies, planning and programming in accordance with the NACOSA strategy.
- Contribute to the development, institutionalisation, and implementation of the strategic and transformation plan for NACOSA.

**Finance and Operational strategy**
- Develop and drive Finance and operational strategies in line with NACOSA’s Collective Actions Strategy: 2023 - 2027.

**Staff Management and Leadership**
- Supervise and manage the finance section to ensure the efficient and effective completion of human resource related tasks and functions including staff development.

**Stakeholder Management**
- Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
- Create confidence in the organisation’s governance and financial management structures.

**Policies, Governance & Compliance**
- Develop and implement appropriate financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all applicable statutory regulations and requirements are reflected in the organization policy and procedures.
- Oversee the procurement function and ensure organizational and donor procurement modalities are complied with.
- Engage the audit and risk committee of the Board of Directors to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections.

**Financial and Operational Management**
- Ensure that the organization is led and managed in a financially sound, efficient, effective, sustainable, and responsible manner.
- Assess organizational finance performance against both the organization’s long-term strategy and short-term operational plan and budget and recommend improvements.
- At a strategic level, manage the I.T. and CRM platform for the finance function with the assistance of relevant experts.
- Ensure that the organization manages donor funds and Grants in line with donor requirements and agreements.
- Manage grant allocations, ensure subcontracts are in place and funds transferred with the accompanying business plan.
- Oversee the budget development for new grant proposals, and changes being made to existing grant funded budgets

**Accounting and accounting systems**
- Develop and implement strong systems of administrative and financial controls.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and yearly Financial Statements.
- Review and approve all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead cost allocation. This task includes the review of debtors and creditors.
- Develop and implement strong systems of administrative and financial controls.

**Financial planning, reporting and analysis**
- On an annual basis, assist with the development of an organizational operational plan and oversee the preparation of the budget and cash-flow statement in consultation with the executive director and managers. The budget should include a capital budget.

**Tax and Auditing**
- On an annual basis prepare an audit plan to ensure that statutory and donor audit requirements are complied with.
- Prepare financial records for auditors to a final, audit-ready stage with supporting documentation.

Required qualifications, skills, and experience.
- A postgraduate degree in Accounting, Chartered Accountant CA(SA) and Professional Registration with SAICA.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance director or chief finance officer role.
- Experience working with “Big Donors” such as The Global Fund, PEPFAR, USAID, CDC and being familiar with their procurement rules and regulations.
- Working knowledge of relevant Non-Profit Organization legislation.
- Previous work experience in a role which involved prioritising high volumes of important requests with competing priorities of a diverse nature.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry legislation and regulations, e.g., POPI, PAJA, PAIA.
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
- Proficiency in accounting systems, advanced MS Office computer literacy.
