- We have a great opportunity for a Scheduler And Planner at our Edam Avenue Offices which serve our Processing Operations.

The main purpose of this role is to take accountability for developing and managing the schedule for medium and large size projects (~ between US$50 mil and US$ 500 mil).

**Job Description**:

- The main duties of this role include:

- Development of the schedule plan including basis of estimate
- Development and updates to the Master Schedule incl. maintaining alignment of all contractor schedules
- Integration with the Cost Engineer and their cost management plan
- Monitoring all associated detailed schedules, providing accurate reports on progress, variance to plan, root causes and remedial actions
- Monitoring the greater environment in order to identify potential risks to the schedule.

**1. Development of integrated schedule plans**:

- Ensuring alignment with the Group Scheduling Standards for each phase (definition of what is required from a basis of estimate perspective)
- Ensuring alignment with other key elements / parties of the project e.g. Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Project Economics, Estimating and Cost Engineering
- Assisting with the development of the WBS.

**2. To develop and maintain a fully integrated Project Master Schedule for monitoring and controlling against tasks, milestones and deliverables. including**:

- Preparing Basis of Schedule for each stage of the project
- Providing / validating benchmarks of durations
- Coordinating with all relevant project team members and project stakeholders to define schedule requirements (accuracy, sequencing and level of activity decomposition)
- Resource loading where applicable
- Assessing risks to the critical path(s) and developing treatment actions including contingency to provide required levels of confidence
- Assessing opportunities to optimise either or both the schedule and the estimate
- Ensure alignment between schedule and cash flow / cost management plan

**3. To monitor and control progress against schedules (with the Project Team) ensuring**:

- Establishing required interfacing (human and technical) to ensure alignment of all contractor schedules with the Master schedule
- Identifying and communicating any schedule conflicts, resource constraints, time constraints etc. to the Project Manager or Project Services Manager
- Early identification of variance
- Analysis and interpretation of root cause(s)
- Thorough review of options to remedy cause and / or recover
- Initiate formal change process where applicable
- Forecast impact and adjust schedule accordingly based on confidence in remedial and recovery actions.

**4. Ensure transparent reporting of progress supported by**:

- QA of the data collection process (onsite)
- Effective (audience focused) communication of key messages.
- Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or Degree in Project Planning
- Qualification in Project Management / Planning

**Experience required**:

- 5 - 8 years’ experience in the following:

- Construction / Engineering Project Management environment
- Construction management experience
- General management experience
- Contractor Management Planning Tools
- Essential to have experience in furnace rebuilds and managing large furnace projects
- Experience with regards to MS Projects and Primavera P6 projects - **essential**

**Knowledge and skills**

Knowledge and experience of:

- Process, Smelting and related operations environment

Technical Areas:

- Pyrometallurgy and Engineering
- Projects Environment Skills
- Knowledge on the Anglo Projects Way or SIB Project Methodology.
