Star Merchant has an exciting opportunity available for a Stock Controller to be based in Alberton, Johannesburg. The incumbent will be responsible day to day stock requests are timeously created on the system in compliance with company policies and procedures. Communicate with the buying team to ensure all items are replenished timeously. Ensure any back orders or delays in stock ordered are communicated to the customers clearly and timeously. Verify quantity and quality upon receiving stock, comparing the stock with the delivery documentation from the supplier and ensure documentation are sent to the Receiving team to GRV the stock into the system. Ensure weekly and monthly stock counts are done accurately and timeously in compliance with company procedures. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is done accurately and timeously and contains appropriate content to enable effective decision making. Comply with all policies and procedures and strict adherence to internal controls.

Minimum requirements:

- 1 year of stock control/warehousing experience.
- Telephone etiquette
- Forklift/Hyster license
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office)

**Responsibilities**:
Financial Metrics/Operational Duties
- Ensure that sales orders for allocated regions are generated timeously and accurately according to company procedures, which always need to be adhered to.
- Pick stock as per picking slips and ensure the bin card process is followed.
- Ensure stock is dispatched timeously along with the required paperwork.
- Communicate any delays or backorders to customers in a timely manner.
- Communicate all backorders, special requests, and items requiring replenishment to the buying team.
- Ensure customer queries are resolved timeously.
- Thoroughly inspect all orders for quality and verify that the quantity received matches the Supplier paperwork. Promptly report any issues or discrepancies, such as short-deliveries, to the Goods Receiving and Buying Team.
- Sent all paperwork promptly to the Receiving Team for stock to be booked into the system.
- Pack stock neatly in allocated areas.
- Ensure weekly stock counts are done timeously and accurately.
- Provide assistance with variance investigations
- Ensure that waybills are completed accurately and maintain open communication with the courier department.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by management.
- Any reasonable ad-hoc duties as required by management.

- Performance must be tracked by yourself and the onus is placed on you to set-up performance review meetings with the Line Manager.

- 100% compliance with company policies and procedures.

- 100% Compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Ensure logical saving of all work, templates, etc. monthly and yearly such that each year’s financial records can stand on its own when enquiries/ investigations/audits take place.
- Produce high quality, neat, logical, succinct, easy to follow, easy to understand, formula linked work/templates/workbooks/financial models - of which is substantiated by facts with no numbers in the formulas.
- Ensure the above (final version) and other documents are chronologically saved/backed up.
- Declare all gifts.
- Do not accept kickbacks. Instances to be reported immediately.
- Declare all conflicts of interest upfront.
