Banqueting Supervisor

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**
- Manages the Banqueting Department efficiently whilst operating within the Hotel operating guidelines.
- Ensures that standards are maintained in the area at all times in relation to service and cleanliness.
- Produce stock take reports, which are required by the Hotel Management.
- Ensures staff of the department strive to continually satisfy guests.
- Identifies and implements staff training sessions to ensure compliance with Hotel operating standards.
- Develop relationships with the major customers to ensure that the V&A Hotel is their first choice of Hotel for an event.
**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensures that all events and functions have sufficient information/detail and that the method of payment is established in advance by establishing a solid relationship and maintaining open communication with the Events Coordinator.
- Ensures that all staff are aware of the requirements of the events and functions.
- Attends meetings to review event and function information when required to do so.
- Ensures that there are sufficient staff for every event or function which will ensure the correct levels of service are provided.
- Ensures that the rooms are l aid up at least 60 minutes prior to the event taking place.
- Ensures that rooms are cleared and reset after each function or event.
- Ensures that each conference/banqueting bill is correct and signed off.
- Identifies and instigates staff training schemes.
- Attends training sessions as directed by senior Hotel Management.
- Is responsible for the standard of cleanliness and maintenance repair in the banqueting areas.
- Performs other duties as are required by the Food & Beverage Manager.
- Meets event and function organisers before, during and at the end of the event or function in order to assess the event or function.
- Ensure that the banqueting facilities are locked and all operating equipment are secured as prescribed by company policy.
- Monthly stock takes of operating equipment to be completed by the 3rd day of every month.
**Skills and Requirements**
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of banquet staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Understanding of banquet set-up, service, and breakdown procedures.
- Foster a positive team environment.
- Training new staff members on banqueting procedures and service standards.
- At least 2 years in similar role at a Hotel
