Our client requires a Trade Lane Co-Ordinator to join their team.

The purpose of this role is to liaise with origin offices/agents across the globe to arrange sea-freight shipments into South Africa.

**Description**:
**Processing a new Order**
- Communicating with the Client Services team as well as Origin offices to discover the correct cargo details
- Selection of correct movement type (LCL / FCL) and use of the best viable shipping line and contract for that route
- Updating CargoWise regularly, accurately, and timely as per the SOP
- Providing consistent feedback to CS regarding the status of the shipments
- Conduct meetings with carriers, co-loaders, and shipping lines on service delivery

**Shipment updates and amendments**
- Ensure that any updates to the ETD / ETA are amended on CargoWise and that the correct vessel name, schedule is always displayed on the system and that feedback is provided to CS regarding any delays experienced

**Control**
- Attention to detail to pick up on mistakes made by origin offices or locally and taking corrective action to get the problem resolved

**Freight Rates**
- Understanding the freight contracts and rates that are negotiated with carriers and co-loaders
- Taking account of special rates (NAC’s) that have been negotiated for specific clients and ensuring that the correct NAC contract is used
- Using the freight rates knowledge to make calculated decisions on shipments when required

**Education Profile**:
**Knowledge & Experience**
- Matric or equivalent of Senior certification
- Computer literate
- Modes - Ocean
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding
