The successful incumbent will need a National-Higher Diploma in either Chemical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering and a technical understanding of boilers, pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment.

**Position details**:
Type: permanent
Reports to: Regional General Manager
Key internal relationships: Would communicate with all the client site teams.
Primary Purpose: Responsible for managing procurement, production data, monitoring boiler house efficiencies of the various sites as well as the required weekly reporting and support of the Western Cape regional activities.
Travel requirements: Travel to all client sites including travelling to the West Coast at least once a week; driver’s license and own vehicle essential.

Job description / core competencies:
A strategic partner in energy management for major blue-chip companies. Operates and maintains its clients' energy and utility plants. The company's primary focus is the management of energy plants in the form of boiler houses using a variety of fuels (biomass to coal), with an emphasis on uptime and efficiency of the various assets. The company works with a number of industrial facilities nationwide to improve operational efficiency and reliability. This is a new position that reports into the Regional General Manager.

The Production Technician will be responsible for managing procurement, production data, monitoring boiler house efficiencies of the various sites as well as the required weekly reporting and support of the Western Cape regional activities.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
The following are the minimum requirements:

- A formal Engineering qualification (either Chemical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical), National Diploma or higher from a recognised institution;
- Good administration, data capturing and filing skills;
- Good trend and graph interpretation skills (Excel);
- Computer literate (MS Office suite);
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- A technical understanding of the boilers, pumps, valves and other mechanical equipment;
- Be prepared to undergo further training or studies;
- Good command of English and strong communication skills (speak, read, write) to engage with clients;
- Vehicle with valid driver’s license is essential;
- Must be self-driven, punctual and reliable;
- Positive and proactive engagement with the production and regional team.
