**Overview**

My Client a Delux Safari Lodge, nestled in the Sabi Sands region of Mpumalanga, offers an exquisite African experience. The lodge / Tented Camp boasts luxurious accommodation in private tented accommodation with stunning views of the wild. Its facilities include a pool overlooking the savannah, a spa for relaxation, and a restaurant serving delectable cuisine. Guided safaris showcase the region's abundant wildlife, providing an immersive adventure. With personalized service and expert guides, the Lodge ensures an unforgettable stay in the heart of untamed Africa. My client is urgently recruiting for an Assistant Lodge Manager as part for their expension.

The main purpose of the Assistant Lodge Manager will be to manage the Lodge and thereby create a profound Guest Experience in line with the service vison and creative concepts of the lodge. It iwill be the responsibility of the Assistant Lodge manager to monitor F&B hospitality service, FOH Rooms and Accommodation Management, maintenance, gardening, and housekeeping standards within the Lodge. The role is additionally strategic in nature and the Assistant Lodge Manager must drive the appropriate service directives for the lodge and move the Lodge towards achieving broader goals.

In this capacity, guest expectations regarding the standard of service should be exceeded. In addition, the lodge needs to be monitored so that it is run in a cost-effective manner within the agreed budget; in a manner which is conductive to positive inter-personal relationships between staff and a superior level of efficiency.

The Lodge Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the morale of the lodge staff is kept at a high level and that staff are developed on an ongoing basis.

**This position is accountable to the General Manager who oversees the Company’s Lodges in the same private game reserve.**

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Matric
- Tertiary Hospitality Diploma / Degree - preferred
- A minimum of 6 years work experience ideally 2 in training and 4 in a well recognised 5 star Hotel or World Class lodge as a Manager
- Exceptional F&B and Front Office / Rooms Management knowledge
- Financial Management ability
- A hardworking cooperative manner
- High standards of service excellence and a passion for the industry
- Attention to detail
- Exceptional English and a second language preferrable
- Good computer literacy
- Excellent Management capability and communication skills
- A clear understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures
- A development approach to staff
- Assertiveness, patience, and good organizational skills
- Understanding of housekeeping and maintenance procedures
- An awareness of developments within Safari Lodge industries as well as international trends in hospitality

**Expectations**

**In broad terms the Assistant Lodge Manager oversees the following Key performance areas**:

- Drive the broader goals of the company, in terms of the Lodge by planning and Implimenting strategic management plans.
- Management and training of the lodge staff in line with the Company standard of excellence.
- Ensure ultimate guest relations and that the “at home” personal attention levels are maintained.
- Maintain the highest standard of housekeeping and maintenance and ensure that the style and design is not eroded.
- Effective financial management through the administration of orders and effective stock control.
- Effective communication and maintenance of Lodge relations.
