Credit Risk: Risk Anticipation Manager

**Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk Responsible for the management and monitoring of the key components of the Organisations Risk Anticipation and Cost of Risk framework. Supporting credit strategy implementation through development of policy, including monitoring and forecasting credit portfolio risk.**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop analytical methodology, tools, processes, and control frameworks, to assess and forecast credit risk
- Manage credit risk customer provisioning and liaise with key stakeholders across the business
- Manage all Cost of Risk budget reporting, forecasting and monitoring
- Forecast credit risk across portfolios, considering emerging risks and changes in external conditions
- Ensure reporting is aligned to shareholders requirements
- Take ownership on bad debt and provisioning in the accounting records
- Build strong relationships with Collections Teams to facilitate alignment on key metrics, targets and support analysis of performance
- Ensure alignment to shareholder policies and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and ensure best practices are applied where applicable
- Manage team to ensure optimal performance, engagement and succession

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- A Bachelor’s qualification in Commerce, Science, or Humanities with a focus on Statistics, IT, Economics, Mathematics, or similar
- **At least 5 years’ experience in the following**:

- Credit risk analysis on lending products
- Extensive understanding of relational databases and ability to effectively utilize statistical software - particularly SAS
- Bad debt provisioning techniques (advantageous)
- People management experience (advantageous)
- Previous Financial services/Retail Credit experience (preferred)

**Salary**: R700,000.00 - R950,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mowbray, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

- Bachelors (required)
