The position is an on-site role and based in Pretoria.

**The main responsibilities of the position include**:

- Developing long-term strategies for the department.
- Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical employees, as well as make decisions that balance business needs with technological constraints.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues and requests.
- Managing the overall information technology and computer systems landscape.
- Evaluating and Controlling all electronic data operations.
- Managing IT staff daily, including scheduling and Critical Incident Management.
- Designing, developing-, implementing-, maintaining
- IT systems and processes in accordance with strategic direction.
- Designing and implementing overall IT policies and procedures.
- Design and implement the overall Cyber Security strategy.
- Identifying problematic areas and implementing strategic solutions in time.
- Auditing systems and assessing their outcomes.
- Preserving assets, information security and control structures.
- Create and manage the annual budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinating the implementation of new technology within the organisation, including working with vendors, consulting with IT staff, and communicating with management.
- Manage data backup and disaster recovery operations.
- Implementing legislative compliance within IT Systems and processes such as PoPIA.

**Qualifications required**:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a similar field.

As well as a minimum of either of the following:

- Cobit Implementer Level or,
- ITIL Expert

A relevant Project Management (PMP) qualification will be advantageous.

**Years of experience**:
10+ years’ experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

**Required Skills**:

- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems.
- Strong problem solving ability.
- Expertise in data centre management and data governance.
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
- Proven track record in managing a team of IT personnel.
- Strong Business Acumen.
- Ability to work with a team of Executives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
