Fi Credit Analyst: Buy Side

A leading **Investment house** is seeking an **experienced** Analyst who is passionate about investments and analysis/research to perform credit analysis within the **Fixed Income space** and play an active role in the investment decision making process.

The team invests across the entire FI universe in listed and unlisted instruments, including bonds, money market, project finance, securitization, derivatives and hybrid debt, trade and working capital and loans, thus providing the incumbent with brilliant exposure.

It is important to note that the incumbent would be a fully-fledged member of the investment team, so this is a **front-office role**.

**The successful incumbent would be responsible for amongst others**:

- Performing in-depth financial statement analysis, research and financial modelling to determine the credit risk of borrowers/issuers and monitor their credit worthiness throughout the term of the exposure;
- Determine fair value pricing;
- Assist with the origination of debt investments via new and existing borrowers and liaise with amongst others bond issuers, DCM teams at banks, other arrangers and ratings agencies on upcoming and existing bond issuances;
- Provide input into the Responsible Investment Policy and methodologies;
- Assist the operations team with administration of the investments with specific focus on the more complex aspects, e.g. loan covenant monitoring;
- Regular report back to the investment committee about existing and prospective credit exposures;
- Regular report back to clients on the performance of their investments, including attribution analysis;
- Assist with new business generation and new product development;
- Assist the team in evaluating competitors and their product offerings.

**Requirements**:

- Financial statement analysis forms an integral part of this role and as such a strong accounting/finance focussed qualification ideally together with CA, or CFA are required.
- Prior accounting and credit analysis experience relating to fixed income markets preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the investment/ financial industry ideally within the FI space.
- Excellent understanding of Fixed Income pricing and analysis.
- Good understanding of the FI and credit markets.
- Passionate about the FI space and investments.
