Tertiary Hospitality Training Institute based in Sandton is currently recruiting for a Head of Academics.
- The purpose of this role is to manage the quality of provision, support and compliance across the academic department.
- Maintains academic excellence by observing, mentoring, and collaborating with faculty.
- Implement department policies.
- Conduct performance evaluations
- Maintains academic quality and departmental vitality through the oversight, recruitment, and retention of faculty, staff, and students.
- Ensures smooth daily operation of the department’s faculty, staff, and physical facilities and schedules.
- Coordinates the departments schedule of course offerings.
- Manages the departmental budget and physical and technological facilities.
- Communicates information concerning policies, decisions, procedures, and activities to the department.
- Attracts and maintains a distinguished and diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
- Supports and develops the vision, mission, and future goals of the department and the university.
- Fosters positive morale and cohesiveness throughout the department.
Ensure quality of education and compliance with academic standards & compliance
- Ensure student progression success
- Accurate administration
- Manage induction, workplace foundation training and placement process

**Requirements**:

- Degree / Hons Degree in Hospitality Management or Education (NQF Level 8)
- Knowledge of academic compliance within the higher education and vocational educational sector
- Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
- Academic management experience
- Inspirational and optimistic team leader.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with individuals at all levels
- An analytical problem solver, with service orientation and a passion towards student support and success.
