**Surveyor - Internal & External
Finsch Diamond Mine is located in the town of Lime Acres, which is situated 160km north-west of Kimberley and 109km south of
Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

**Job Reference Nr: FIN542 Job Grade: C2
**ROLE DESCRIPTION**:The role is responsible to perform accurate surveying activities, both underground and surface in accordance

with legal requirements and maintain survey networks.

**TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: **

Conduct topographical surveys including staking out control points, toe & crest surveys, buildings, engineering infrastructure,
reticulation systems and reservoirs.

Perform engineering and construction surveys and re-surveys as well as reduction of primary and secondary surveys where
required.

Perform accurate surveys underground for development ends and large excavations.

Assist in establishing Survey control and ensure the completion of the photogrammetric surveys.

Conduct laser (LiDAR) scans and prepare scan data.

Monitoring of slimes dams, open pit rim and slopes, shafts, sidewall stability and other mine infrastructure by means of survey
from known control points as required.

Executing and checking calculations, including subsidence monitoring, and other maintenance and surveying control work.

Perform equipment calibrations and checks for accuracy to ensure equipment function and correctness of surveys.

Draft the correct information to the mining departments (holing notes, survey notes, layouts and future developments) and
compile required survey reports.

Maintaining Survey records as per Health & Safety Act (MHSA), company standards and Mine.

Ensure that all data captured is stored on the network according to the defined workflow.

Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system within the Technical
Services function.

Takes cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non
- compliance issues.

Model behaviour that is consistent with the Company Safety, Health and Environment Vision and Values. Manage and report
on non-compliance issues.

Supervises subordinates in the designated area.

Effective Team Player and Effective Self-Management.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: **

Certificate COM Elementary Survey

Minimum 2 years’ mine surveying experience.

Advanced Computer Literacy

CAD software - Bentley Microstation connect

Valid Drivers’ License**

Proficiency in relevant technical systems and software packages: Terra solid, Winminop, Leica Infinity, Reutech MSR,

**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: **

Perform surveying measurements and calculations.

Understand and perform surveying measurements.

Process and calculate surveying results.

Calibrate survey equipment.

Use trigonometric functions to calculate coordinates and determine angles and volumes in accordance with specified
requirements.

Understand legal plans related to survey information and demonstrate knowledge of applicable legislation.
