**Summary**:
The Porter at Stellenbosch Hotel needs to demonstrate the highest level of courteous and efficient service, to ensure guests feel welcome and that their requests, luggage and vehicles will be taken care of at all times.

**Duties**:

- To greet guest in a friendly manner, to show them to their rooms and to explain where everything in the room is
- To be able to handle and store guests luggage
- To take and distribute messages correctly
- To carry out the mail service
- To be able to advise guest on Hotel services, shopping availability and to give directions to local highways etc.
- To handle and assist with arriving and departing guest and groups in the correct manner
- To maintain the highest standard of appearance
- To be fully familiar with all security and evacuation procedures
- Provide a valet service for cars in the basement parking

**Requirements**:

- Must have complete Grade 12
- Incumbent to have excellent proficiency and understanding of the English and Afrikaans language
- Valid Driver’s license - PDP advantageous
- 3 Years' experience in a similar position
- Must have a positive attitude and good people skills
- Well presented with a professional and neat appearance
- Flexible in execution of duties and assisting in other departments
- Good work ethic and eagerness to learn mandatory
- Must be available to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Must be flexible and willing to work shifts.
- Ability to take, follow and execute instructions correctly

- Porter: 3 years (preferred)
