**_Financial Controller - Safari Lodge - Mpumalanga_**

Location: Kruger National Park - Mpumalanga

Synopsis: Our client, a prestigious lodge located in the heart of Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their team. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for recording and maintaining the lodge's financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a renowned hospitality establishment in one of South Africa's most iconic wildlife destinations.

Job Description: As the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will include:

- Recording and maintaining the lodge's financial transactions, including purchases and expenses.
- Ensuring successful billing runs and sending statements to clients.
- Allocating debit order and cash payments received, and preparing bank reconciliations.
- Investigating data to address client queries and coordinating month-end management accounts reporting.
- Reconciling creditors and preparing payment instructions.
- Assisting head of departments with monthly stock takes.
- Managing the Cash Book and conducting bank reconciliations.
- Processing and reconciling petty cash transactions.
- Ensuring all capturing and reconciliations are completed in time for month-end close off.
- Preparing month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Managing fixed assets and statutory returns payments.
- Demonstrating clear knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Understanding budgets, forecasts, ME packs, tax, and financial reporting.
- Monitoring working capital and cash flow.

Minimum Requirements:

- Grade 12 qualification.
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- At least 3-4 years of working experience as a unit finance controller in a lodge.
- Knowledge of Pastel and Apex/Opera Micros will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
