Our client in Montague Gardens Cape Town is recruiting for a CNC Bending Machine Operator to start ASAP
- Sets up and operates machine to bend metal structural shapes, such as bars, rods, angles, pipes, and tubes, to angle or contour specified by work order, drawings, templates, or layout: Selects and bolts holding clamp, die block, and guide clamp to the machine.
- Positions and clamps end stop on the machine to set the specified location of the bend.
- Inserts or screws plug stops into guide wheel to set specified degree of bend.
- Positions workpiece against the end stop.
- Locks holding clamp and guide clamp onto the workpiece.
- Lubricates workpiece with oil.
- Starts turntable that draws workpiece through guide clamp around die block until stopped by plug stops or until dial indicator points to a specified degree of bend.
- May slide mandrel into tubing instead of using guide clamp.
- May preheat the workpiece, using a hand torch or heating furnace.
- You may use a hand-powered bending machine for short runs.
- May fill tubes or pipes with sand, resin, or lead to prevent wrinkling or collapse during bending operation.
- May heat the tube, using a torch, and manually bend the tube or pipe around forming blocks.
- May flare tube ends, using tube flare and cut or trim metal stock to length, using power shears or saws.
- May be designated according to the type of stock bent as Pipe-Bending-Machine Operator; Rod-Bending-Machine Operator; or Tube-Bending-Machine Operator.

Minimum Requirements:

- CNC Bending Experience or Qualification
- Able to work as part of a team
- Follow Instructions
- Clear Credit and Criminal Record

Pay: R10,500.00 - R12,800.00 per month
