The Senior Pricing Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies for the Payment Acceptance business. This role involves analysing market trends, costs, and margin factors to determine competitive pricing that meets the company’s financial goals while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Functional Strategy: Set and cascade the Functional strategy with supporting operating model and ensure resources are in place for its execution | Operational Excellence: Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of operational activities | Business Risk and Compliance Management: Oversee the implementation of, and conformance to, Group Risk and Compliance requirements within the operating environment, in line with set risk appetite | Stakeholder Management: Actively promote and manage the collaborative engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, suppliers, clients, service providers, business partners and other Absa entities | People Management: Coach, mentor and manage team members toward driving business objectives and ensuring colleague development | Governance: Ensure the fulfilment of all required governance activities, including tracking and reporting | : |:
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct market research and analysis to understand customer behaviour, industry trends, and competitors' pricing models
- Recommending pricing models that consider various payment methods, transaction volumes, risk factors, and customer segment.
- Work towards key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of pricing strategies and regularly reporting on their performance.
- Analyze the impact of pricing decisions on the company's profitability.
- Assess pricing-related risks and opportunities, e.g., to win new business, grow transaction volume and mitigate against attrition.
- Ensure adherence to relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Effectively communicating pricing changes to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Collaborating with sales, product, and marketing teams to align pricing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Collaborating with finance, operations, product, segment, and schemes teams to understand the cost structures associated with payment processing and factor these into pricing decisions.
- Analyze and interpret market trends, customer behavior, and financial data to inform decision-making.

**Qualifications**:
A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or in a related field.

Preferably a Post-Graduate in statistics, finance and ecomonics.

A master’s degree in business administration will be advantageous.

Role / Person Specification

5+ years of experience of in pricing, finance or similar analytical role, required

Experience in Payments industry, preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent negotiation abilities

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required), Master's Degree: Actuarial Science
