**Job Description Summary**
As a Tender Specialist you are responsible for the coordinating and tracking the Tender Life Cycle Management processes ie submission of tenders, improvement of tender management processes and providing data driven insights into tender performance.
**Work Location - South Africa**
**Responsibilities**:
- Work with Operations Specialists and the Commercial Teams to support the analysis of technical specifications, develop project timelines, and submit tender offers/proposal requests for all identified tenders. Collate all documents within required deadlines to be included in the offer.
- Ensure accurate completion of tender documents, liaise with Product Manager, Technical Service Manager, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Strategic Account Manager, Business Leaders, Commercial Operations, Credit Control, Order Fulfillment and ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance to of tender specifications and general terms.
- Maintain Tender Tracker and a Register Archive of all commercial contracts (electronic and physical copies) Take note of expiry dates and ensure that BD is ready for new submission and extensions.
- Track tender performance against SLA and volumes consumption, proactively highlight performance gaps and work closely with BU leaders in place counter measures.
- Perform market research and gather tender insights and intelligence and maintain a database of tenders available in the market.
- Driving continuous improvement in the tender management process and consequently facilitating and driving improved commercial decision making. Work with Business Analysts to perform analytics on tender performance, SLA, KPI and Dashboards. Prepare insights and share with respective Business Leaders for decision making.
- Build a database of turnkey service providers and gain an understanding of their project pipelines within the markets in which BD operates.
- Maintain 3rd Party tender/ procurement portals with BD updated cooperate information.
**Preferred Requirements**:
- A 3-year bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Commerce/ Supply Chain/ Business Administration or Equivalent
- Similar experience in the Pharmaceuticals, healthcare technology or relevant healthcare relateindustry.
- Min 3 years' work experience in Import activities into African countries along with 1 - 2 years of operational logistics and/customer service experience/procurement
- Minimum of 2 years of operational logistics and customs expertise (Import & Export), Healthcare sector.
- Previous experience as working with Tenders specialist or similar.
- Good understanding and communication in English.
- Good communication and effective listening skills.
- Problem-solving skills. Eye for details.
- Salesforce (SFDC) and PowerBI knowledge is a plus.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills,
- The ability to work in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment,
- High sense of urgency,
- Ability to coordinate and manage several tasks at the same time,
- Orientation to detail and accuracy.
