Ensure that all corporate events assigned are properly planned, monitored and completed in accordance with Corporate Actions procedures
- Work in a methodical manner and prioritise work in accordance to what is required at the time and in line with the service level requirement of the division
- Ensure proper analysis of all corporate events assigned within a reasonable period, discuss and communicate implication with Corporate Actions Manager/team and plan all events prior to LDT-5 where applicable.
- Assist Corporate Action staff and Settlement Office with all technical issues relating to Corporate Events both past and present and advise on escalated queries.
- Ensure that all current corporate action queries are resolved in a quick and efficient manner that result, in the Settlement Office providing excellent service to client, other departments of SBG Securities and the market in general.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively and to ensure all processes and tasks are properly planned and completed in accordance with the standards and procedures of Corporate Actions and Settlement Office.
- SBG weekly reconciling of control accounts
- Exercise caution in all actions as Corporate Action is exposed to risk on a daily basis
- Managing operational risks and mitigate financial losses
- Report all operational incidents timeously and conduct post mortems
- Reduce number of incidents compared to previous year
- Drive the culture of compliance with applicable laws and regulation.
- To complete daily bank reconciliation between the BDA (JSE Broker Dealing Accounting) System and bank statements.
- Resolve and follow up on all unreconciled items on a daily basis
- Update daily bank balances on all bank accounts and analyse big variances.
- Monitoring of daily bank balances on all bank accounts to ensure none of the bank accounts go into overdraft and report if overdraft does happen.
- Liaise with different business on unallocated items.
