The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Who You Are
- Mainframe Performance and Capacity Job Requirements

1. Understanding of Z/OS Operating System Concepts
- 2. Knowledgeable in the use of IBM Z/OS utilities
- 3. Knowledgeable in the purpose and design of SMF records and utilities
- 4. Knowledgeable in the purpose and advance use of RMF
- 5. Knowledgeable in the purpose and advance use of WLM Work Load Manager
- 6. Understanding of CICS, DB2, WAS and IMS concepts.
- 7. Working knowledge of DB2 SQL
- 8. Workable knowledge of Tivoli Decision Support system (TDS)
- 10. Participate in service component continuous improvement projects
- 11. Maintain capacity projection information for use in report generation..
- 12. Assist the Account Management team in communicating technical and performance information to the customer.
- 13. Provide analysis of capacity related information to assist the customer with determining future capacity requirements
- 14. Produce daily/weekly/monthly capacity analysis reports for monitored resources.
- 15. Assist in the evaluation of proposed configurations to determine impact on capacity requirements
- 16. Provide Ad-Hoc reporting with analysis to help resolve issues regarding performance problems
- 17. Analyze the performance impact of configuration/technology changes.
- 18. Investigate incidents and problems affecting capacity and provide input and findings to the Root Cause Analysis process.
- 19. Participate in incident/change processes and meetings as needed
- 20. Provide support for business controls audits
- 21. Workable knowledge of the SAS Programming language.
- 22. Workable knowledge of the SAS/MXG system.
- 23. Thorough understanding of SYSPLEX Design.
- 24. Basic understanding of DFHSM, SMS Storage management concepts.
- 25. Basic understating of HMC function and ZOS Console Commands
- 26. Workable knowledge of Batch Scheduling (OPC/CA7).
- 27. Advanced JCL knowledge.
- 28. Advance understanding of LPAR Grouping, Weight management and Soft/Hard Capping.
