**The objective of this role**:
The purpose of the Production Team Leader is to ensure accurate reporting on machines. Secondary responsibilities for all processes on the shift; meeting operating requirements; managing waste streams, and Level 1 team management.

**Deliverables in this Role**:
People Management
- Weekly engagement with team members:

- Personal issues (daily)
- Work performance
- What can he/she do better?
- What can management do better?
- Needs
- Development plan in place for each team member
- Absenteeism trends displayed, analysed, and addressed
- Leave book filled in for any day employees are not present at work - AWOL, sick or leave
- Ensure that team members are always at their workplace
- Feedback on performance
- Quarterly rating
- Schedule for breaks
- Handover to and from previous shift
- Organise stand-ins for absenteeism

House Keeping (5S)
- General cleaning standards obtained and sustained

Operating of Processes
- Breakdowns/stoppages:

- Talk to operator and understand stoppages and breakdowns
- Record stoppages correctly
- Do a 5-why with artisan on shift and shift manager when a breakdown takes longer than 30 minutes
- Sign off corrective actions after breakdown
- Resolve breakdown and stoppages quickly with proper identification of cause/s (problem solving)
- Always looks for innovative ways in which problems can be prevented

Safety and hygiene:

- No unsafe practices allowed
- Your team members must be PPE compliant
- Your whole area must be compliant with safety roles - no matter who the person is
- Hygiene standards adhered to

Operation:

- Run the lines at efficiency targets
- Waste management according to standards
- People at machines always
- Fast and efficient problem solving
- Traceability papers filled in by operators and checked by team leader
- Flavour start-up is correct and production papers completed
- Flavour finish - end of production papers filled in correctly.
- Hourly reports on WhatsApp or E-mail, filling in of production Dropbox and the production boards (hourly)

Level 1 Maintenance
- Autonomous maintenance Level 1 - 4

Cleaning in Process
- Machine process specific

Assist in Fault Diagnosis and Repair, Root Cause Analysis (5Y) Completion - Break down management
- Time to detect, time to correct

Health, Safety and Quality
- Safe work environment
- Healthy work environment
- Completion on QMS documents
- Make sure cleaning is done correctly and up to standard (GMP)
- Preforms - wet
- Filler - taste, brix, and CO2
- Bottles - wet and dry
- Caps - wet and dry
- Labels -wet and dry
- Wrapped packs - dry
- Wrapped pallets - dry
- Check regularly that all functions are on at check-mat
- Make sure areas of operators are clean at all time
- Make sure all rubbish is removed
- Check that autonomous maintenance are adhered to

Qualification:

- Matric (Grade 12)
- N2 Mechanical or Electrical Engineering advantageous

Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within beverage and bottling industry
- People management and leadership skills
- Preferably experience within the FMCG industry
- Document control; Computer Literacy and arithmetic skills
- Communication skills - be comfortable to communicate and collaborate with internal customers
- Leadership skills; Initiative and taking ownership
- Excellent Organisation and spatial reasoning skills
- Decision making and judgement
- Strong analytical and planning skills
