- Understand key competitors, global and local trends, sector dynamics and key macro environmental forces to analyse sector-wide opportunities and challenges;
- Understand the critical micro-environmental impacts and relationships i.e. client performance trends, financial data, debt profile, gearing, projected cash flows, operations to support differentiated funding solutions e.g. offshore opportunities, acquisition and empowerment financing.
- Understand and stay close to the needs, demands, perceptions and lending behaviours of clients to ensure successful deal support/enablement. This includes undertaking research to enable targeted origination planning for potential clients and strategic partners
- Support the on-going monitoring of deals which may include: covenant compliance and annual credit reviews.
- Support solutioning approaches where considerations will include: client requirements, regulations, internal risk frameworks, pricing, term and funding mechanisms.
- Build pricing/projection models and “what if” scenarios that are integrated and bespoke in order to establish the risk and reward parameters.
- Contribute to the attainment of the Business Unit budget by supporting transactions to enable enhanced revenue growth.
- Support and facilitate credit risk processes/ forums. This includes support of deal and client due diligence processes, preparation of required documentation, attendance at credit and legal approval processes and other governance forums
- Support projects and complete allocated tasks to ensure successful transaction implementation. This includes allocating sufficient time to complete work, understanding inter-dependencies across teams, following up on client queries and suggesting changes to the schedule to enable the achievement of transaction objectives.
- Display a working knowledge of relevant systems and interdependencies between these systems
