**What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)**

As our SHEQ Compliance Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, health, environmental quality, and regulatory compliance within our cutting-edge biogas plant. You'll supervise and communicate effectively, ensuring all activities align with the industry's norms and standards. Your attention to detail and ability to operate at a supervisory level will be vital in fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

You'll enjoy the challenge of developing and managing a comprehensive SHEQ documentation system, conducting audits and inspections, and ensuring all necessary legal appointments are in place. Your role will also involve collaborating with regulatory authorities and working towards ISO certification, guaranteeing the long-term sustainability of our operations.

**Where you’ll be doing it**

In a brand new company with a motivated and engaged small team. This role is based at our plant in the Western Cape (Athlone), where you'll immerse yourself in a dynamic environment focused on renewable energy and waste management. You'll interact with various teams, ensuring compliance and operational excellence on-site.

**What you’ll need**
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years in SHEQ compliance and operational roles, ideally within the waste management industry.
- Formal Training: Recognised SHEQ training, including formal Safety Management training.
- ISO Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO standards, especially 9001, 14001, or 18001/45001.
- Regulatory Expertise: Exposure to working within a regulated framework, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Supervisory Skills: The ability to supervise, communicate effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to develop and maintain detailed documentation systems.
- Problem-Solving: Skilful at investigating accidents, incidents, and injuries, providing root cause analysis and containment actions.
- Positive Influence: Ability to promote and develop a positive SHEQ culture within the company.
