Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Production:

- Lead and supervise the preparation, assembly, and installation of joinery components.
- Perform complex joinery tasks, including custom work, on-site installations, and finishing, as well as teach and train mid/junior carpenters when doing these items.
- Plan, organize, and allocate work to mid/junior carpenters, based on their skills.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during production, installation, and finishing phases.
- Responsible for ensuring that materials order have been delivered and not damaged. Report back immediately on materials missing or damaged.
- Ensure the efficient use of materials and resources to meet project deadlines.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- When required, sand, finish, and polish joinery products to meet project specifications.

Team Collaboration and Development:

- Mentor and train junior carpenters, providing guidance and feedback to improve their skills.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to ensure effective teamwork.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure proper interpretation and execution.
- Provide feedback on any challenges encountered to senior management.

Workshop and Site Management:

- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization in the workshop and on job sites.
- Oversee the upkeep of tools and equipment, ensuring they are maintained and replaced as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide reports on project progress, timelines, and material usage to the Workshop Foreman/Project Manager/Operations manager.

Quality Control:

- Perform quality control checks to ensure carpentry work meets the highest standards of workmanship and adheres to project specifications
- Inspect and correct any issues with the final product, providing solutions to enhance the quality of the work. Sharing these learnings with the mid/junior carpenters.
- Implement processes for continuous improvement in joinery practices.

**Requirements**:
Experience and Skills:

- Senior Certificate (Matric).
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in carpentry, with a focus on custom joinery and cabinetry.
- Proficient in the use of both hand and power tools, with a strong understanding of advanced joinery techniques.
- Experience in leading teams, including training and mentoring junior staff.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license.

Pay: R15 000,00 - R22 000,00 per month
