**JOB DESCRIPTION**

To heighten the focus on machining solutions within the South Africa region, our client is looking for an Application Specialist to be based in Johannesburg.

As an Application Specialist, you work as a technical expert to support the sales team for a total solution offer to customers and you fulfil the technical solution delivery that meets the customer’s needs by:

- Holding responsibility for ensuring that the companies products are correctly implemented and deployed to ensure they are as well secured to minimise competitor conversion and customers gain the maximum impact of utilising the companies Tools, services and technology.
- Supporting Account Managers/Agents in technical presentations and customer interactions to ensure suitable business opportunities are identified and secured for the company, whether analogue or digital.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Build effective working relationships with end customers and distributors to secure agreed priorities implementation.
- Support Sales activities including analysis of customer’s technical needs and suggest and implements solutions.
- Proactively support cross functional working to deliver results.
- Act as an ambassador for driving new ways of working and future technology within their field of expertise to ensure customers’ needs are fulfilled and profitable business is gained for the company.
- Be accountable for ensuring successful opportunities are identified by Account Managers or others are qualified and as appropriate products are technically applied in a first-class manner to maximise the companies market share and profitable business.
- Document applied products and services performance and savings, whether successful or unsuccessful to ensure the company can develop and deliver the most competitive products in the market.
- Lead customer projects from start to finish together with Account Manager and Agents.
- Ensure post-sales activities include resolving implementation problems and conducting trainings required.
- Liaise with hardware, software, and systems design engineers to ensure that products and services are modified, configured, and installed per customer needs.
- Work in matrix to ensure technical alignment between customers, sales Account Managers and internal departments.
- Monitors competitors’ landscape and alternative solutions that can jeopardise business in the area.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- National Diploma (NQF6) / Degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or a related field.
- Mechanical trade will be advantageous.
- 5 years experience in Sales
- Highly competent with CAD/CAM, preferably Mastercam or VisiCam Software.
- Extensive technical knowledge in advance metal cutting tools and methods
- A proven track record in delivering good business results in a machining production environment
- Project management skills
- Managing customer relationships.

You will need to travel extensively for this role within the South Africa region and may be required to travel occasionally to other Sales Regions.
