- Come and join this dedicated team as our Senior Patrolperson Specialised Control Room is the first point of contact for all communication and emergencies in the operation and surrounding community. The role is responsible for the effective monitoring of security systems (CCTV, alarm, two-way radio and telephone) and the identification of security violations, security breaches, non-compliance, safety issues, analysing incident conditions and checking hotspots. Ensure the effective communication and co-ordination of responses by patrol officers and emergency services to incidents. Effectively conduct Product movement monitoring.

**Job Description
- Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:
**Monitoring**:

- Evaluate actions in risk areas and potential threats with reference to best practice requirements and regulations
- Monitor the area whiten the optima range of cameras for criminal activities
- Monitor adherence to procedure and standards and notify management of deviations
- Gather and record evidence on incident through the use of electronic equipment
- Notification supervisor and response personnel of incidents
- Record suspicious behaviour or incidents for review and investigation
- Statement writing
- Monitor and test operational panic alarm system
- Answer two-way radio and telephone
- Coordinate the deployment response personnel
- Monitoring access control activities
- Utilise surveillance equipment to monitor identified hotspots
- Conduct required review on searches conducted in searched cubicles

**Identification**:

- Monitor alarm systems
- Review surveillance footage to detect possible incidents
- Efficiently identify possible incidents before they occur through surveillance footage and alarm systems
- Effectively evaluate incidents, and handle them appropriately or send relevant emergency personnel to the scene
- Systems and equipment faults regularly captured and reported
- Product movement trucks are dispatched and monitored, and deviations reported to supervisors

**Optimal Utilization**:

- Control operator consoles
- Operate electronic access, camera and alarm systems to designated standards
- Evaluate seriousness of emergency and incident conditions and initiate emergency actions including contact with relevant personnel.
- Recommend possible steps for improvement of security measures including lighting and camera positioning
- Report systems and equipment faults
- Allocation of alarms to response personnel and log feedback on the system
- Completion of incident reports
- Effective administration of control room responsibilities

**Effective administration of control room responsibilities**:

- Follow up on incident reports
- Testify on evidence in hearings
- Conduct shift change over briefing.
- Complete shift reports
- Complete and update security logs and registers

**This role is at a GBF 8 level reporting to the Protection Services Superintendent.**

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12
- Registered with PSIRA Grade B
- Valid Drivers license code B
- CCTV Surveillance Skills and body language Course
- Handle and use a Shotgun for business purposes
- Handle and use a Handgun for Business Purposes
- Code B Armoured Vehicle driving course will be advantageous
- PSIRA DH4 Dog Handler qualification (As per operational requirement)

**Experience**
- 3 years’ experience in a security environment or equivalent

**Technical Knowledge and Skills**
- Understanding of CCTV surveillance or crime prevention function will be advantageous
- Observation skills
- Basic understanding of CCTV
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of production layout, production process and work activities
- Knowledge of radio communication
- Knowledge of handling alarms and organising effective response
- Emergency reporting
- Certificate of fitness
- Communications in English (spoken, written and reading)
- Writing of statements
- Handling of various emergency situations in a Control Room context
