Financial Admin Assistant

Main duties and responsibilities
Process/post invoices and credit notes
Reconciliation of creditors accounts and resolving queries
Receive and verify invoices and all relevant documentation to process creditors payments.
Follow-up on all missing documentation
Ensure that payments have been authorised according to the required financial procedures.
Perform day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions according to the relevant internal processes.
Validate, approve, and post invoices.
Prepare vendor reconciliations.
Resolve all vendor queries.
Prepare paperwork/backup documents for payment run.
Ensure suppliers are paid on pre-determined payment terms.
Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
Forward proof of payments to suppliers and internal stakeholders when required.
Maintain a current and accurate filling system for the creditors function.
Assist with general administration and financial duties.
Verify B-BBEE status with vendors.
Accurately capture company credit card transactions within the correct period
Purchase order maintenance
Undertake any other duties as requested by the financial accountant
Education and experience
Diploma/bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a similar filed
A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working as financial admin assistant or similar role.
Working knowledge of accounting software, such as Sage and Acumatica.
Hard skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Good organisational and time-management skills
Excellent analytical skills and financial prowess
Ability to work without supervision, under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency in mind.
Knowledge of financial controls and accounting standards
Soft skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Proactive
Solutions orientated.
Strong team player with solid communication skills
High levels of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
