Purpose

Clickatell is looking for a passionate individual to lead a team of highly skilled SysOps engineers and to provide expertise in planning, organizing, controlling, and management of all platforms, and implementation of the overall infrastructure strategy. We are looking for an experienced person to help us manage and develop our cloud infrastructure. This role will work closely with our development teams to provide the support necessary to allow for rapid code deployment and high levels of system uptime. This individual will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations within the SysOps space and mentor, develop and guide other SysOps engineers.

Responsibilities of the Role
- Be a thought leader with regards to Clickatell’s overall cloud adoption strategy.
- Participate in architectural and design discussions around current and future system implementations, including but not limited to monitoring/internal tooling/AWS environment design requirements.
- Be a mentor and leader within the team, upskilling and guiding other team members in the various aspects of SysOps.
- Lead the team of SysOps engineers, providing direction and oversight, steering strategy and managing team workloads.
- Advise and assist the Director of Networks and Infrastructure in developing and implementing long-term strategy goals
- Divisional policy and process formulation, strategic planning, resource coordination and operational execution of projects and assisting in procurement process.
- Ensuring all documentation and diagrams for all environments are accurate and up to date
- Capacity planning and reporting for team performance and workload.
- Manage the team’s personal development plans and work with each individual to achieve agreed-upon goals and career progression.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1 sessions with each team member.
- Act as liaison between the team and the Software Development department to ensure project requirements are met.
- Conduct biannual performance reviews for each team member.
- Technical liaison with enterprise customers and vendors as required.

Requirements of the Role
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading a technical team in a large-scale environment essential.
- Experience in virtualisation and cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)essential.
- Must understand and demonstrate knowledge of:

- Containerized environments (EKS/K8S)
- CI/CD workloads
- Reporting on team performance and metrics
- AWS Solutions Architect and/or SysOps Administrator (Associate or better) certification advantageous
- Experience in managing of large-scale projects (Scoping, Planning, Scheduling and Reporting).
- Experience in operating (and migrating to) of highly-avaiable IaC environments.
