3P Logistics Lead

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
The 3P Manufacturing Logistics Lead - Third Party Manufacturing, as a member of the SC 3PM cell for Africa, is responsible for combining supply chain, technology, manufacturing, and product knowledge with financial acumen to develop and execute a third-party manufacturing strategy for South Africa. The strategy developed will move Africa beyond using 3PM’s for tactical purposes, leveraging 3PM’s to create competitive advantage through optimizing gross margins, improving service levels, and driving incremental growth opportunities through innovation capability and speed. This particular role will take responsibility for inventory and logistics at 3P for SnA, and unlock efficiencies as well as reduce losses in inventory.

JOB SUMMARY
- Support the development of and execution of the cross category 3PM strategy for South Africa
- Interface with key PG/CCBT/MCO stakeholders in defining business needs strategy in Southern Africa
- The strategy will proactively identify opportunities to improve gross margin, identify capacity required to achieve service levels goals, and unlock innovation capability and speed through buy/deploy models
- Enable information management and cost-opportunity decision making for E2E SC analysis.
- Monitor and improve 3PM performance management including cost, quality, safety and service. Specifically partner with finance and procurement to ensure proper cost controls in place around stock management and purchase price variance
- Drive improvement opportunities via partnership with 3PM’s on logistics losses,, drive gross margin improvement program for all categories related to 3PM waste, logistics or inventory losses.
- Act as non-commercial relationship lead with 3PM’s, interface between 3PM and functional UL support
- Manage team of 3P operations assistants to ensure daily logistics and inventory management, stock take governance and compliance, root cause analysis on inventory losses and financial document control are delivered.
- Inventory control and logistics SAP knowledge is critical

KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 3+years experience in SC, Logisctis, Warehousing, or Manufacturing role
- Wider Unilever functional experience with at least 2 roles in a wider function (eg.Source, Make, Plan, Deliver or Finance)
- Experience in Excel
- In depth understanding of SAP and cost centre links
