- As a Protection Services Officer you will be responsible for supervising and developing the team of Patrolpersons including Senior Patrolpersons, within an Anglo American Platinum Operation to ensure that they perform their duties and that employees and assets are protected within the law.

**Job Description
- Your day-to-day duties will include**:

- Support in investigate crime and the transgression of procedures.
- Patrol and protect all personnel and assets within an assigned area of responsibility.
- Ensure that safety and legal standards are adhered to in performing protection duties.
- Ensure that operating standards and procedures are up to date and understood.
- Ensure that operating standards and procedures are up to date and understood by support personnel.
- Monitor and advise on the settings of monitoring equipment to optimize performance.
- Monitor the process regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of security standards.
- Issue, receive and register all equipment utilized by the team including firearms and specialist security equipment.
- Ensure that materials, resources and equipment are available and in working order for the team’s requirements before deployment.
- Conducts inventory and stock checks monthly.
- Compile accurate security reports including incident and investigation reports.
- Allocate required job instructions to employees.
- Maintain applicable Safety, Regulations, Legislation, Codes of practice and standards appropriate to systems.
- Complete applicable safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for area - Conduct and/or participate in required meetings.
- Manage effective security systems to protect cash, bullion, explosives and valuable material.
- Prepare reports for management or other information customers.
- Act when required in the Protection Services Superintendent specialised - Tactical position.

**This role is in the Protection Services department at a Band 7 level reporting to the Protection Service Superintendent Specialised - Tactical.**
- Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Accredited tactical qualification
- Registered with PSIRA Grade B
- Demonstrate Tactical Proficiency with a Handgun
- Demonstrate Tactical Proficiency with a Shotgun
- Demonstrate Tactical Proficiency with a Self-loading rifle
- Valid Code B driver’s license (any divers license of a higher code will be advantageous)
- Code B Armoured Vehicle driving course
- DH4 & 5 qualifications will be advantageous

**Experience required**:

- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Security or equivalent environment of which 1 years should be in a tactical environment
- 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position

**You will also need to have**:

- Psychometric Assessment for firearms
- Pass Practical Assessment
- Firearm Competency
- No criminal record
- Pass polygraph test

If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Certification.
