**Reporting to**:Head of Department: Publishing

**The Role**

Macmillan Education South Africa is seeking to appoint experienced professionals to the above-mentioned Publisher positions. These roles will be responsible for publishing a wide range of high-quality, profitable projects from Grade R-12, with emphasis on cost effectiveness, high approval results and timeous delivery within the parameters of agreed schedules.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Networking, market research, concept-building and keeping abreast of market developments
- Effective project management for both print and digital projects
- Efficient publishing administration
- Project budget management
- Sales and marketing support

**Requirements**:

- A Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of educational publishing experience; teaching experience would be an advantage
- Good understanding of the educational publishing industry and education environment
- Sound knowledge of copyright and contract compliance and processes
- An ability to switch between print and digital media would be an added advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Able to work independently and within a team
