An opportunity exists on a 6 month contract with the potential to progress to permanent employment.

**Accountability**

To manage and co-ordinate the complete governance of the global procurement function; provide optimal procurement services to the copper assets and functions and ensure standardization and efficiency of all procurement processes.

**Financial Perspective**
- Manage the procurement function is such a way that unnecessary spend is minimised.
- Provide expert assistance with life of business planning initiatives when required.
- Regularly interrogate and probe procurement transactions through exception reporting to ensure that specific purchase are in fact required and valid.
- Ensure the provision of financial insights to business on a regular basis as a value-add function.
- Report on procurement management progress and the achievement of relevant financial and time objectives.
- Contribute to the effective achievement of functional budgetary constraints and effecting savings where possible.
- Attend to Audit requests by providing information and documentation in the execution of related audits.

**Operational Perspective**
- Ensure prompt conversion from purchase requisition to purchase orders, ensuring SAP MasterData is used (Contracts, Suppliers, Goods and Services MasterData).
- Ensure continuous Monitoring of supplier PO acknowledgements and effect prompt PO amendments.
- Drive the effective expediting of POs with suppliers based on company rules and policy.
- Ensure that no goods or services are purchased outside of approved catalogues.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of business processes within GTS and other operations business functions.
- Implement strategic initiatives geared towards ensuring the continual improvement pf the procurement process in general.
- Implement and drive strategic projects for standardising and utilising best of breed principles for the organisation like the Jagged Edge project.
- Continually advise the business on the best usage of relevant resources.
- Work closely with operational teams to maintain a good understanding of the products and services required and what it takes to translate those into purchase requisitions.
- Continuously strive towards optimal automation of basic procurement processes in the interests of creating greater efficiencies and mitigating human error.
- All fraud risks must be known and adequate controls implemented to reduce the likelihood and impact of those risks materialising.
- Adherence to Glencore policies and procedures governing Treasury, Bank and Cash must be adhered to at all times.
- Create effective MRPs (material requirement plans) and utilise the best rules for each site across the globe that makes sense for them in order to reduce the number of people on site determining requirements, thereby enhancing production.
- Ensure that all procurement functions and services are consistent, standardized and centrally managed.
- Define and implement procurement data strategies to ensure the data is valid, accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
- Assist in mitigating all relevant commercial, financial and reputational risks.
- Continuously evaluate the procurement process effectiveness by working closely with operations and global commercial leads to continuously make improvements to all procurement processes.
- Ensure continuous compliance with country laws that are relevant to the country of operation.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and participate in improvement projects where required.
- Play a liaison role for all audits that are conducted on all vendors as and when required.
- Coordinate and participate in relevant projects by supporting and engaging with relevant stakeholders relating to pipeline projects and progress.

**Customer Perspective**
- Advise and influence business stakeholders on the milestone payments process.
- Proactively manage expectations of stakeholders and resolve conflict by engaging with the right people.
- Provide high levels of support and advice to all internal stakeholders on procurement management aspects affecting the company.
- Provide technical support to internal customers and advice and data provision on request.
- Establish, implement, and maintain an effective technical problem resolution platform.
- Provide expert compliance advice regarding procurement requests.

**People Management (Learning & Growth)**
- Responsible for own development and updating of developments in field of expertise.
- Responsible to establish Job Descriptions and expected deliverables of subordinates aligned with the company strategic objectives.
