Sample Room Administrator

Truworths is looking for experienced Sample Room Administrator to join their dynamic team. The Sample Room Administrator provides administrative support to the team to ensure efficient performance of the department. Acts as a connecting link between the Patternmakers, Machinists, Merchandisers and Sample Room. Back-up for the Sample Room Cutter in case of absence.
**Key Responsibilities**: Technical knowledge 1.1 To check cut work against pattern before handing to sample machinist to ensure cutting is accurate and that all nips are marked 1.2. Knowledge of how pattern fits together to be able to assist machinist if issue putting garment together 1.3. Knowledge of how to put a garment together to advise on sample construction to ensure correct standards are followed 1.4 To be able to measure a garment correctly to compare to spec 1.5. to Pre fit coats, jackets and dress bodice's before complete 1.6 Effectively and efficiently adds all unsewn trim e.g. cords etc. to the sample garments and ensures that all the labels have been added correctly and according to the brief 1.7 To prep sample pack before handing to machinist, check brief ties up with cut work, ensure pieces are fused correctly and binding correct width and sufficient quantity General Administration 2.1 Manage the booking-in of cutwork for sewing, and accurately captures daily work completed and handed over to Merchandisers 2.2 Information on the workload tracker must be accurate and credible 2.3 Ensure that daily urgent styles, marked as priority by the Manager, are tracked and completed within the same day 2.4 Fabric shrinkage record keeping - to measure and capture shrinkage on system - to file shrinkage tests
**Qualifications and Experience**:

- 3 - 5 years experience working in a sample room and having the required skills as outlined in the Job Description
