**PRODUCTION MANAGER**

- ABOUT THE POSITION
- The Production Manager plays a vital part in ensuring that the standard of excellence that has been established by the gallery is upheld. The position requires involvement with all aspects of production for works that are shown at the gallery, exported to clients and international fairs, that are produced on behalf of partner galleries and international artists. The company presents a number of shows in the gallery each year, and in many instances is responsible for producing works on behalf of artists who are not present and so the Production Manager undertakes a complex role of liaison, coordination, troubleshooting and quality control.
- **Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with, Founder and CEO, to determine exact details and requirements for every object that is produced or sourced.
- Join design team for meetings with artists and manufacturers/suppliers to coordinate design development work.
- Schedule and minute design development meetings and discussions, and draft timelines for production of work.
- Liaise with the design/graphics team to generate drawings where necessary, check drawings before processing and sending to suppliers for manufacture.
- Liaise with suppliers, artists, sub-contractors in requesting and receiving quotes, managing project deadlines, and providing feedback to design and operations teams.
- Action new orders: issue purchase orders, request proformas, tax invoices, manage payment schedules with finance department.
- Oversee production with a specific focus on timelines, construction, quality, and finishes.
- Carry out quality control and troubleshooting of commissioned artworks, furniture, and smalls.
- Work with the operations and logistics teams to manage collection and delivery associated with production.
- Manage production budgets, artwork pricing and record keeping for accounting procedures.
- Prepare client presentations and costing proposals.
- Generate care instructions, based on artist and manufacturer recommendations.
- Assist in generating dispatch lists, crate labels, and commercial invoices for larger projects.
- Manage and develop systems to monitor production, deadlines, packing and delivery to ensure timeous installation of artworks.
- Carry out manufacturer & supplier research and outreach.
- Position Requirements
- Project management experienced and strong Interior design, architectural or manufacturing technical experience
- Strong admin,
- Finance, and computer skills
- Experience of the creative and manufacturing industries and exposure to a wide range of processes such as upholstery, carpentry, bronze casting, 3D printing.
- An excellent eye, wide knowledge of materials and processes, and strong design sensibility.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to work well in a team, and collaborate with people from different walks of life.
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task and work under pressure.
- A flexible and enthusiastic attitude, with nimble and adaptive thinking.
- Independent working methods requiring decision-making, responsibility, and accountability.
- A deep understanding of all artists represented by the gallery and their practices.
- Strict adherence to structures around privacy of information and confidentiality.
- Big picture thinking with an understanding of the overall brand identities and goals.
