**General Purpose of the position**

Description of Role:
**Key Objectives**:

- Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign along with the Business Analysts.
- Share best practices and be consultative to clients throughout the duration of the project.
- Produce a detailed functional design model to match customer requirements.
- Co-team with the Technical Architect to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements.
- Provide current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document.
- Participate in internal projects as required.
- Participate in pre-sales activities.
- Participate in RFP and Tendering processes
- Serve as an advisory to clients on the roadmap and the way forward with products and services already in place at the customer
- Building and integrating financial systems to meet the customer needs
- Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it
- Resolving technical problems as they arise
- Provide supervision and guidance to development teams
- Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed
- Inform various stakeholders about any issues with the current technical solutions being implemented
- Assess the business impact that certain technical choices have

**Required Experience and Skills**
- Strong experience with UML Modelling
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs
- Proven work experience as a Solution Architect or similar role
- In-depth understanding of multiple coding languages, most importantly Java and C++
- Strong problem-solving skills; able to assist programmers with troubleshooting and improving code implementations
- Experience with CD/CI process automation will be an advantage
- DevOps experience or understanding will be an advantage
- Experience with Docker based containerization will be an advantage
- Experience with deployment and cluster management using Kubernetes, OpenShift or similar product will be an advantage
- Experience with JEE based solutions preferably with JBoss experience or understanding required
- Able to mentor junior to intermediary programmers when needed
- Experience with Red Hat AMQ, ArtemisMQ and/or IBM MQ or willingness to self-skill in these products is required
- Experience with Oracle databases is required
- Experience or understanding with/of Jasper Reports will be an advantage
- Experience in financial systems will be an advantage
- Understanding of PFMI guidelines will be an advantage
- Experience or understanding in/of Apache Camel will be an advantage
- Experience in defining swagger/openAPI-based interface specifications using REST based web-services required
- Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
- Should have participated in, and be familiar with, SDLC and Agile project methodologies
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in professional services, sales, or customer support operations
- Proven Solutions consulting experience in large enterprises
