Night Shift Manager

**Job Purpose**

To oversee and manage the nightly operations of the distribution center, ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe handling of goods, timely dispatch, and adherence to company policies. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Operational Management**
- Oversee nightly distribution center activities, including receiving, sorting, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
- Monitor operational performance and implement strategies for efficiency and productivity improvements.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to meet customer service expectations.

**Staff Supervision**
- Lead and manage a team of nightshift supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse operators.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive work environment and maintain high levels of staff morale.

**Health & Safety Compliance**
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during nightshift operations.
- Conduct routine safety checks and ensure proper use of equipment.
- Address and report incidents or hazards immediately.

**Facility Maintenance**
- Oversee cleanliness and organization of the distribution center during the shift.

**Reporting & Communication**
- Prepare nightly reports on performance metrics, issues, and operational updates.
- Communicate with day shift management for seamless handovers.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., transportation, customer service) to resolve operational challenges.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Proven experience in warehouse or distribution center management, preferably in a nightshift setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.

**Preferred**
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience with automated or semi-automated distribution systems.
