**_ Position Purpose:_**
To plan, design and implement an overall risk management process for the division, incorporating various risk management
elements i.e. ERM, health and safety, environmental management, continuity and project risk management; conduct risk
assessments, which involves analysing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business;
as well as risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organisation such as
costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organisation's previous handling of risks; then report
in an appropriate way for different audiences, so they understand the most significant risks. To business heads - to ensure
they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business. And to individuals - to ensure they understand their
accountability for individual risks. Further establish and quantify the organisation's 'risk appetite', i.e. the level of risk they are
prepared to accept and ensure that ‘risk is appropriately managed, value is added and organisational objectives are
achieved.
**_Position outputs:_**
Strategy, Procedures and Plans
Provide input into the development of an enterprise risk management strategy and plans within the context of the overall
business and strategic objectives of Transnet Property, as well as the risk and regulatory context impacting Transnet property
portfolio.
Provide risk management input into the Transnet Property strategic planning processes to ensure that all key risks and
exposures are identified and effectively mitigated.
Develop an understanding of the various risk factors driving Transnet Property business risks and their impact on Transnet
Property risk profile.
Establish and implement an ERM Control Framework to ensure effective controls are established
Consolidated risk information and prepare stakeholder reports such as EXCO, Board and other Committees
Represent TP and Group Committees, Forums and Special Projects on business Risk Management
Business Risk Management
Develop and implement an Enterprise Risk Management solution for Transnet Property as guided by the Group risk
standards and the ISO 31000 international standard.
Lead and facilitate the development and maintenance of the Corporate Functional Strategic Risk Registers, special projects
and transactions
Facilitate the establishment and improvement of the TP Strategic Risk Register
Facilitate on-going review analysis of risk mitigating strategies, ensuring that Business Risks facing Transnet Property are
adequately dealt with.
Keep abreast of developments in the business risk management field and in ensuring that the implications for Transnet
Property are fully identified, quantified and appropriate action is taken to minimise their impact.
Monitor the performance and effectiveness of the business risk assessments processes, controls and identify areas for
improvement
Business Continuity Management
Set standards for the establishment and maintenance of robust Business Continuity Plans in line with the ISO 22301 BCM
Standards and Good Practice Guidelines
Lead by facilitating business impact analysis and risk assessments for TP to identify key services, critical processes and
systems, supporting resources and interdependences relevant for the establishment of
Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
Collaborate with management to ensure that BCPs are established, tested and improved throughout the organisation
Participate in BCM Forum and other meetings to support BCM and other relevant initiatives
Co-ordinate and participate in the simulations and testing of BCPs to provide inputs and support for improvement.
Provide specialist inputs into the emergency preparedness and response plans to ensure alignment with BCPs and reduction
of risks
Co-ordinate the BCM Forum and other related meeting to ensure effective implementation of the BCM in TP
