An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Food and Beverage / Front of House
Manager to join a well-established, traditional golf club, based in the Winelands of Cape Town.
As a **Food and Beverage / Front of House Manager** you will be mainly responsible for
successful and consistent management of the Halfway House, Bar, Restaurants and Deli as
well as all other catering functions through ongoing development and growth of sales,
profits, and reputation.

**Reporting to the Managing Director, your main duties and**
**responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to**:
Responsible for all food and beverage production and service for the club. Directly
supervise the Duty Managers, Restaurant Manager and Service Ambassadors. Plan
the wants and needs of club members and guests are consistently exceeded.
Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional
development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented.
Identifying the individual roles and responsibilities of all relevant staff members.
Establishes quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within
the department.
Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures.
Develops and implements policies and procedures for food and beverage
department.
Day to day control and management of the food, Restaurants, and bar operation.
Supervising and ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of the Halfway House, bar,
and Restaurants.
Consults with the Managing Director, Executive Chef, and other applicable club
administrators daily to help assure the highest level of member satisfaction at
minimum cost.
Helping identify, agree, and compile a list of realistic control measures and then
achieving the agreed targets and goals as identified by the club.
Providing the club with guidelines and direction regarding the governance and control
of the food and bar operation.
Providing both cost saving and income generating schemes designed to improve
bottom line profitability.
Ensures correct handling procedures to minimize crockery and glassware breakage.
Being aware of the members’ wishes regarding service standards and product
placement and, where possible, in line with the club ethos, to deliver the same.
Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the Managing Director about
appropriate corrective actions taken.
Develops interesting ways of promoting club functions in the function room, and
other outlets.
Complying with all legislative and safety processes concerning the day-to-day
operation of the food and bar areas.
Responsible for the proper accounting and reconciliation of the Point-of-Sale systems
and member revenues.
Maintains records of special events, house counts, food covers and daily business
volumes.
Ensures that an accurate reservation system is in place.
Greets guests and oversee actual service on a routine, random basis.
To be considered for the position as Food and Beverage / Front of House Manager, previous
experience is essential. In addition, you must possess the following key skills and experience:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of catering operations, health, safety, and hygiene legislations.
Experience in the Hotel industry would be of benefit.
