Duties/Pligte
- Managing your security shift staff with regards to time and attendance, patrols, performance and adhering to security protocols;
- Knowledge of performance appraisals and conducting performance appraisals of your subordinates as per Stellenbosch University's performance management protocols;
- Managing, overseeing and actively participating in security patrolling by motor vehicle, motorcycle and on foot;
- Managing and overseeing the proactive identification, investigation, follow-up and record-keeping of high risk circumstances that can jeopardise the safety of the University's property and community;
- Managing and overseeing the optimal utilisation of the SU's security technologies such as alarms, CCTV systems, patrol monitoring systems and camera monitoring. Must have an in-depth knowledge of all systems within the Operational Centre;
- Acting as enquiry and reference point for Stellenbosch University during patrols on campus;
- Availability to work shifts as well as overtime and standby duties as required by the University's security operations;
- Supporting and assisting Campus Security staff with conducting fire demonstrations and safety talks to members of the campus community;
- Managing, overseeing and ensuring compliance to all SU contract security provisions as per Service Level Agreements with appointed contracted security service providers;
- Rendering support to the security operations manager with conducting security operations;
- Ensuring that all members on their shift are trained and fit to render optimal security patrol services;
- Managing all shift logistic requirements such as, for example, uniforms, vehicles, flashlights, and two-way radio availability and reporting all defects to the security operations manager.

- Bestuur van en toesighouding oor proaktiewe identifisering, ondersoek, opvolg en rekordhouding van hoë risiko omstandighede wat die veiligheid van die Universiteit se eiendom en gemeenskap bedreig;
- Monitor en toesighouding oor die optimale gebruik van die US se sekuriteitstegnologieë, bv. alarms, CCTV kringtelevisiestelsels, patrolliemoniteringstelsels en kamera monitering.
- Moet oor 'n intensiewe kennis van alle stelsels binne die Operasionele Sentrum beskik;
- Die vermoë om kennis en vaardighede toe te pas en deurentyd aanbevelings ten opsigte van proses verbetering binne die area van verantwoordelikheid te maak;
- Dien as navraag
- en verwysingspunt vir die Universiteit Stellenbosch tydens patrollies op kampus;
- Beskikbaarheid om skofte en oortyd te werk en bystandpligte te verrig soos deur die Universiteit se operasionele sekuriteitsbedrywighede vereis;
- Ondersteun en verleen hulp aan Kampussekuriteitspersoneel met brand
- en veiligheidsdemonstrasies aan lede van die kampusgemeenskap;
- Bestuur, toesighouding oor en verseker die nakoming van alle US kontrak sekuriteitsvereistes soos volgens die diensvlakooreenkomste met aangewese sekuriteitsdiensverskaffers;
- Lewer ondersteuningsdienste aan die operasionele bestuurder ten opsigte van operasionele sekuriteitsbedrywighede;
- Verseker dat alle lede op jou skof die nodige opleiding ontvang het en fiks en gesond is om optimale sekuriteitspligte na te kom;
- Bestuur alle logistieke vereistes soos bv. voertuie, uniforms, flitse en tweerigting radios en rapporteer enige gebreke dadelik aan die operasionele bestuurder.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Grade 12;
- Valid registration with PSIRA;
- Events registered with PSIRA;
- Proven security and control room experience;
- Grade B PSIRA;
- Excellent verbal communication skills in at least Afrikaans or English;
- Clear criminal record;Good physical and psychological health;
- Willingness to work shifts;
- Willingness to provide extra services as required from time to time;
- Computer literate.

- Geldige registrasie by PSIRA;
- Geregistreer by PSIRA vir byeenkomste;
- Bewese sekuriteits
- en beheerkamer ervaring;
- Graad B PSIRA;
- Uitstekende mondelinge kommunikasievaardighede in minstens Afrikaans of Engels;
- Geen kriminele rekord;
- Goeie fisiese en psigiese gesondheid;
- Bereidwilligheid om skofte te werk;
- Bereidwilligheid om ekstra dienste te verrig soos van tyd tot tyd vereis word;
- Rekenaarvaardig.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- A valid Code EB driver's licence;
- Skilled in the use of MS Outlook, Excel, etc;
- The ability to communicate in a second language;
- Experience in a supervisory position within a security services division;
- Experience in rendering security services at an institution of tertiary education.
