**Purpose of the Job**:
**Job Objectives**:
Architect and design medium to highly complex technology solutions (e.g. involving several departments, new technology, integration of many technology types, medium risk, change impact and/or visibility).
Develop and maintain an understanding of the technology strategy and business priorities for [Financial Services] in the enterprise.
Develop Shoprite’s [Financial Services] landscape roadmap and blueprints in line with the strategic business direction
Maintain, socialize, and enforce [Financial Services] system standards, keeping technology stakeholders up to date with changes in the technology standards highlighting potential impact to the enterprise.
Serve as the [Financial Services] systems authority for all technologies and provide technical guidance and leadership in technology proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and project teams.
Keep abreast of the latest [Financial Services] technology trends and emerging technologies, determine the potential impact on the enterprise, and drive adoption as deemed appropriate.
Create and present reference architectures as advice on the [Financial Services] architecture strategy for the organization.
Serve as the [Financial Services] domain architecture and design authority for all project and operational stakeholders, and ensure architecture quality across all solution platforms enabled by customer-facing solutions
Serve as the senior design authority as it relates to the [Financial Services] domain and provide technical guidance and leadership in solution proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and project teams.
Partner with the Enterprise Architect and other Solution Architects in support of the definition and development of the overall enterprise solution landscape.
Detect critical deficiencies in [Financial Services] architectures and recommend improvements.
Work with external service providers to drive projects to successful implementation.
Review external and internal designs for [Financial Services] systems from a risk and technology perspective.
Ensure applicable architecture and design reviews are conducted for retail solutions in line with the defined IT governance and processes.
Provide architectural oversight and guidance to development teams to ensure high-quality technical solution designs during the detailed design, build, test and deploy phases that conforms to architecture principles and standards.
Provide expert [Financial Services] guidance, ensure solution architectures and designs are in line with the [Financial Services] strategy and technology standards and conduct architecture and design reviews as part of the Architecture Review Committee.
Define and develop the overall [Financial Services] architecture landscape in partnership with other Domain Architects and Solution Architects.
Review proposed solution architectures ensuring alignment with architecture principles, the architecture framework, retail reference architectures, set technology standards and identify critical gaps, and recommend improvements.
Ensure that architecture and related risks are identified, appropriately treated and reported on.
Perform architecture-related risk assessments.
Give guidance and advice to peers in respect to [Financial Services] ensuring the designs conform to industry best practices and standards.
Engage all stakeholders to obtain agreement on proposed [Financial Services] solutions and work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, System Analysts and Project Managers to architect and implement retail solutions.
Contribute to domain architecture and design standards, practice and SDLC governance requirements
Define domain specific principles, standards and guidelines and ensure these are aligned with broader enterprise architecture and IT governance standards. Additionally support the development of frameworks, policies, procedures, and templates for Domain Architecture across the Shoprite Group.
Maintain and embed domain architecture principles, standards, and quality compliance criteria to guide technology decisions.
Perform ongoing architecture quality review activities relative to domain specific projects/programs.
Define a set of metrics to measure and report on the performance of the various domain architecture processes.
Contribute toward building the architecture capability within the Shoprite Group by sharing expertise and serving as a coach and mentor to architecture teams.

**Qualifications**:
Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science.
TOGAF certification

**Experience**:
+4 years’ experience in a Senior Domain Architect role.
Solid IT industry experience across all aspects of IT projects, from business analysis, architectures, system analysis and design through development, testing, implementation, and production support (SDLC).
