**Entity and activity description**
The Area Manager Electrical within the ALLISA organization is accountable for the cost effective availability of safe and reliable assets to production. He/she is responsible for the effective maintenance of the plant to ensure availability and reliability of the plant equipment and facilities through the coordination of preventative and corrective scheduling of maintenance responsibilities.

**Missions and Responsibilities**
His/Her main responsibilities are:

- **Operational Effectiveness. **Contribute to the translation and execution of the ALLISA business strategy, objectives and plan into action for employees by translating and cascading operational goals and long-term plans through effective two-way communication in the organization and continuously improving on products and processes, inclusive of Health, Safety and the Environment (SHERQ). Ensure that ALLISA’s vision, values and business direction are embraced by the team. Manage multi-level interfaces and integrate effectively and lead in establishing and continuously improving maintenance best practices, maintenance systems, aligning the right skilled resources to work with the right issues, improve and create maintenance standards for all processes. Ensure equipment availability to meet the production plan and overall legal compliance and governance. Ensure effective and efficient technology management and implementation at a functional level. Interact with the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- **Asset Management.** Ensure the management, revision and improvement of ALLISA Asset Management standards for maintenance. Maintain assets within agreed operations envelope conditions and set standards. Manage asset life cycle and plans and provide input into the five (5) year rolling capital plan. Manager spares availability, accuracy and accuracy with the team of foremen and technicians supporting the Inventory management team and governance.
- **Cost Management.** Compile the annual long term maintenance budget and ensure cost optimisation through maintenance plan effectiveness. Control costs to ensure the maintenance budget is achieved and develop long term cost renewal plans accordingly. Ensure adherence to governance and prescribed procurement policies and procedures.
- **Safety.** Support and execute the ALLISA SHE strategy to achieve zero harm. Manage operations risks by making sure that all risks are identified, analyzed and mitigated to acceptable levels. Ensure continuous improvement of key safety metrics to maintain license to operate. Perform PTOs on critical tasks and ensure foremen perform PTOs on critical tasks. Ensure adherence to the OHS Act No.85 of 1993 regarding the EIR and EMR. Follow and ensure the team adheres to critical safety procedures.
- **People development and management**. Steer and develop team members in their key missions. Manage and motivate the team to achieve the objectives set while developing talents for ALLISA and for the Group. Ensure training gaps are identified and plan in place to ensure required competency. Manage team engagement and cooperation between offices. Effectively manage overtime plans and reduction targets as needed. Manage critical competencies. Ensure availability of, the understanding and the adherence to switching procedures by the team.

**Competencies and Profile** Educational background** : B.Eng**./ **B.Sc. Eng. **/**B.Sc. (Hons) **/**B.Sc.**/**B. Tech (Eng)

**Technical Experience**:

- **5 to 8 years** relevant experience in an **operational environment**:

- **A minimum of 5 years** experience in **Maintenance Management**:

- Proven track record of experience in **Plant Operations**:

- Must have an expert knowledge and understanding of **Electrical Maintenance** models, methods, philosophies, systems and shutdown procedure management
- Must have an advanced knowledge and understanding of governing laws, policies, standards and procedures
- Must have an advanced knowledge and understanding of **Operational Risk Management and Asset Management**:

- Must have an advance knowledge and understanding of SHERQ, LOTO, VSDs, LCIs, MCPs, UPSs, PLCs, switching procedures, MV motors (Induction, Synchronous), switchgear, Electrical protection systems, MV and SCADA, Microsoft Office Products and Google Suite Products.
