A full qualification in short-term insurance
- Responsible for short-term policy administration (renewals, endorsements and new business)
- Providing high quality service and solutions to brokers to ensure business retention and profitable growth
- Providing qualitative service levels to internal and external clients
- Collect, review and analyze an applicant’s relevant history and records
- Obtain additional information about an applicant to determine coverage needs
- Determine the level of risk for insuring or lending
- Help agents determine premium costs
- Evaluate insurance claims for accuracy and the coverage amount.Providing high quality service and solutions to brokers to ensure business retention and profitable growth. Providing qualitative service levels to internal and external clients.
- Determine the risk involved in insuring a client.
- Screen applicants based on set criteria.
- Use automated software to determine the risk of insuring applicants.
- Review recommendations from underwriting software.
- Assess clients' background information and financial status.
- Liaise with specialists to gather information and opinions.
- Weight loss exposures and determine underwriting alternatives.
- Draw up a quotes for competitive insurance premiums.
- Good understanding of short-term procedures
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and insurance systems (preferably flexi)
- Strong attention to detail and distinct ability to identify grammatical and spelling errors
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Assesses the risk for life insurance
- Collect appropriate and accurate information required to assess potential clients and decide on the acceptable risk for a policy.
- Prepare reports that detail risk assessment findings that contribute to the final decision.
- Compare various policies having similar risk undertaking and conduct actuarial studies to decide on the company’s loss records.
- Evaluate policies with regards to the company’s underwriting standards.
- Analyze statistical data using specialized computer programs.
- Write quotes, determine premiums and coverage, and negotiate terms with brokers and clients.
- Carefully select the wording of policies, and prepare the terms and conditions.
- Handle queries from credit control departments, brokers and clients.
