Company Description

A local and nationally represented company specializing in the supply, installation and maintenance of products for the vertical lifting industry is looking for a qualified Lift Technician who will be primarily responsible for servicing, preventative maintenance and repair work on Elevators and Escalators

Job Description

Manage you're in-house team and subcontractor to ensure that they are installing:
A. Safely,

B. Good Quality

C. On-time. Assist/advise and train where necessary to ensure the work is being conducted according to ABC.

Appoint a health and safety consultant for each job Monitor H&S files and ensure that work on-site is conducted safely. Recommend improvements to the equipment that would speed up the installation process Complete the construction checklist correctly and notify and inform the CITL or Subcontractor of any incorrectly installed components Ensure you understand what is required from sales for the particular project and communicate this to relevant parties, ensure a sales pack handover is received. Conduct at least two site visits weekly and verifies/approve all subcontractor work claims before 12pm every Tuesday. Ensure all claims are submitted before the weekly deadline Check that the layout drawing and shaft dimensions coincide.

Keep the company vehicle in good condition and report any defects promptly to CM Ensure you have a good working knowledge of the SANS regulations. Report defects of materials to CM. Ensure you are working safely at all times and all PPE is worn and checked for defects each day, Study manuals and write-ups on any new equipment to ensure you understand the functioning of the unit. Arrange, assist inspector with Annexure B's, and complete adjusting related items.

Check that the layout drawing and shaft dimensions coincide. Order equipment if necessary with part numbers and project numbers from Procurement Complete site visits prior to delivery and reports back to local admin on-site conditions. (storage and delivery) Ensure that the installers are on time regarding the progress of the installation. Attend to service-related problems when necessary and complete paperwork in relation to problems. Conduct project handover between service and construction departments

- Technical/Software - Proficient with Microsoft office suite including Microsoft Project. Ability to use other applicable software including SAP & cloud software. Able to use proprietary software to manage labor and financials**
