As the mastermind behind our content strategy, you'll dive deep into trends, craft compelling stories, and collaborate seamlessly with our design and marketing teams to ensure a consistent and engaging brand voice across all platforms.
**You Bring**:
- Bachelor's degree in literature, journalism, marketing, communications, or similar.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications, or similar.
- Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role.
- Familiarity with content management systems.
- Formal training in videography/photography, typography, interaction design and/or visual communications
- Exposure to managing projects from inception to execution.
- Good knowledge of content and layout design tools such as Adobe InCopy and InDesign.
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office and Google Suite.
- Good knowledge of various content platforms such as social media, blogs, and print media.
- Strong understanding of content practices such as SEO, SMO, and PPC.
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills.
- The ability to keep abreast of content and consumer trends and advancements in technology.

- Portfolio of completed design projects.
- Hands-on experience with image editing software, like Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
- Proficient in design software (e.g. InDesign and Balsamiq).
- Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colours, fonts and layouts.
- Attention to visual details.
- Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team.
**W**hat You’ll Do**:
- Meeting with the creative, marketing, and design teams to ideate and define content goals.
- Researching content and consumer trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing.
- Developing content strategies to effectively reach the desired target audience and marketing goals.
- Creating content for a variety of platforms including blogs, websites, and social media.
- Writing clear marketing copy to promote our products/services and for events and publications
- Proofreading and editing content before publishing.
- Preparing well-structured drafts using Content Management Systems.
- Managing content calendars and ensuring that the content remains consistent across all platforms.
- Be current with the latest digital marketing content trends.
- Understanding and implementation of industry best practices across all digital channels.
- Coordinating with the marketing, design, and writing teams to ensure the timely delivery of assignments.
- Tracking consumer and content analytics and generating reports and presentations.
- Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics.
- Keeping up to date with content trends, consumer preferences, and advancements in technology.
Manage Content including Creation and Distribution
- Accountable for the overall distribution of content through various channels, including media, website, social media and various internal communication channels.
- Resource and manage communication content, guidance and review for all collateral and messaging for a mix of internal and external audiences.
- Manage and ensure quality is retained on platforms for BET content.
Support Fundraising /Sales Focus
- Support the stakeholders to implement marketing strategy for BET and for fundraising by managing creation and flow of content.
- Align communications strategy with engagement objectives.
Team Management
- Develop and build capacity so that Network Communicators contribute to the global external communications effort, by providing stories and news on relevant and timely development and local and/or regional successes.
