Our client, a trusted financial services provider, is looking for a Business Development Consultant (Personal line).

This position is a client facing sales role where engagement with clients will be face to face. The successful applicant will be required to source own leads for car, home and contents new business and advise primarily on personal lines motor and household domestic insurance.

We are looking for Business Development Consultants who are committed, driven, results oriented advisers who are able to work on their own as well as in a team environment writing business in accordance with targets laid down by our client’s

**Responsibility**:

- Source sufficient lead generating opportunities to ensure a minimum of 10 client quotes per week and 40 per month
- Minimum requirement of 11 written policies per month
- Maintain and update your Lead Generation Matrix on a weekly basis
- Manage the lead generation process which includes group presentations, one on one consultations, ensuring regular communication with staff, participation in corporate events, advertising and general relationship building
- Once a quote is requested the consultant must contact the client in order to conduct a proper needs analysis and offer professional advice
- Keep up to date and fully informed on product comparisons with opposition products
- Sign up a minimum of 5 active lead referral agents
- Meet all KPl's as laid down by THE client for BDCs
- Complete weekly reports that reflect leads, quotes and sales as well as the source of the leads, average premium, total premium and any other pertinent information which may be required from time to time
- Be compliant in all activities in accordance with regulations and standards of all Insurance regulations and professional guidelines and ethics
- Maintain appropriate skills and knowledge in order to provide specialist, professional advice in all relevant business areas
- Meet the Fit and proper requirements as set out in the FAIS codes of conduct at all times
- Meet continuing professional development objectives as required by the industry
- Maintain the required dress code and professional appearance

**Qualification**:

- Matric/Grade 12
- FAIS Credits (min 30 credits in short term insurance if date of first appointment is before 2010); or if date of first appointment is on or after 01/01/2010, a full recognised qualification as per the FSCA qualification list.
- FAIS Regulatory examination for Representatives (RE5)
- CPD (continuous professional development) points

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 3 years direct sales experience from any sector
- At least 2 years’ experience sourcing own leads
- Must have a proven track record in client facing new business acquisition
- Must have - Own transport (CAR) and licence

**Remuneration and benefits**:
Remuneration on offer is a fixed basic salary (no sliding scale & no retainer), plus commission, including eligibility to earn annual incentives. There is also the potential to earn annuity income on successful retention of business sold over time.
