Shipping Clerk- Major Tech (PTY) LTD

We are looking for a detail-orientated and proactive Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the optimization of the procurement processes ensuring that all materials and services required for the organization's operations are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. The Shipping Clerk will work closely with local and international suppliers as well as internal departments to maintain inventory levels.

Basic salary: R15000 – R17000 p.m.

Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities:

International Stock Orders:

  • (Covers a large array of products and suppliers)
  • Capturing of all overseas invoices and related freight invoices.
  • Arranging payments with the relevant financial institution (FNB and SARS).
  • Booking in large shipments with 100% accuracy.
  • Ensuring all documents are in order, and kept on file.
  • Daily filing of shipments booked in.
  • Ensure shipment status is regularly updated on the system.

Local Orders:

  • Place orders with suppliers, follow up on orders, and create the relevant GRN (Good Receipt Notes) upon receipt.
  • Assist with the monthly ordering of stationary.
  • Assist in the monthly ordering of groceries.
  • Assist in the continuous ordering of warehouse consumables.
  • Handle Ad-Hoc requirements as needed.
  • Assist with the coordination and arranging all maintenance requirements of the Johannesburg Head Office building.
  • Handle the processing of zero invoices and replacement invoices.
  • Assist with inventory management as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of samples received and ordered.
  • Assist on the switchboard if and when requested.

Admin:

  • Filing
  • Opening of indent files
  • Assist with the up-to-date sorting of the archives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Tertiary Qualification: Advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Customs.
  • Excel skills – Proficient/ Advanced.
  • Working experience on Sage X3 or similar ERP system.
