About the Role
Hans Mahrt and Company is recruiting an experienced Business Development Consultant on behalf of our valued client in the short-term insurance sector. This role is focused on acquiring and developing business within the affluent market, with an emphasis on motor and household insurance products.
We are seeking a highly driven and results-oriented professional who can confidently build and manage client relationships while delivering tailored insurance solutions. This role offers excellent earning potential, professional growth, and the opportunity to be part of a high-performance team.
Key Responsibilities- Generate and secure new business opportunities within the affluent client segment
- Source and qualify a minimum of 10 new client leads per week (40 per month)
- Achieve and exceed monthly targets, with a minimum of 8.5 written policies per month
- Build and maintain strong referral networks (minimum of 5 active referral agents)
- Conduct comprehensive needs analyses and present customised insurance solutions
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements
- Maintain accurate client records and submit weekly reports on leads, quotes, and sales activity
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor offerings, and product changes
- Matric / Grade 12 (compulsory)
- Certificate in Short Term Insurance or Wealth Management (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in short-term insurance sales
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- CRM system experience is advantageous
- Basic salary of R10 000 – R15 000 per month
